The Reason for the Season

What do people normally think about when they think of Easter? Is it the Easter Bunny?

Maybe the famous Easter Egg Hunt.
(Those are two of my nephews, btdubs. This picture was taken about two or three years ago.)

Or if you're the Average American... "Nacho Libre."
(I know that you just read that in his fake Mexican accent.)

But the reason for this holiday is often lost in the side-stories. The true reason for this time of year is to celebrate the fact that there was One who rose from the grave, and opened Hell's gates.
"I know that my Redeemer lives. What comfort this sweet sentence gives.
He lives, He lives who once was dead. He lives, my ever-living Head."
"I marvel that He would descend from His throne divine
To rescue a soul so rebellious and proud as mine,
That He should extend His great love unto such as I;
Sufficient to own, to redeem, and to justify."

Dr. S. M.Lockridge said, "He’s God’s Son

He’s the sinners’ Saviour...
He’s the only one able to supply all of our needs simultaneously
He supplies strength for the weak
He’s available for the tempted and the tried
He sympathises and He saves
He guards and He guides
He heals the sick
He cleansed the lepers
He forgives sinners
He discharges debtors
He delivers the captives
He defends the feeble
He blesses the young...
Death couldn’t handle Him
And the grave couldn’t hold Him."

Because of Him, I can be forgiven for everything I have done, and everything I will do. And one day, I hope that I can truthfully answer 'yes' to the question "Did you know me?"

Happy Easter, everyone. And may we remember the reason for THIS season :)

Idaho Potato

Oh heyyyy! Does anyone read this? No? Okay. I'll write anyways. It's been awhile..! And I'm sorry. To whom? Possibly you, if you've been a faithful reader. If you haven't been a faithful reader... OkayfineI'mstillsorry. Since I've last posted, a LOT has happened... First of all...

I'VE ATTENDED COLLEGE. And yes. It is a big deal. I've been traveling with my faithful friend, Fred the Flamingo (try saying that five times fast. I dare you).

I attend Brigham Young University Idaho. And yes, it is my second semester and I'm STILL not engaged. Neither do I have a boyfriend.* Not that I REALLY care, though. Would it be nice? Of course, but I'm not going to complain. #datsinglelifedoe Aaaaanywayyyyys... I'm rooming with a beautiful girl whom I shall call Because I'm Luxurious (because that is what my phone auto-corrected her name to). I'm very excited to start my new semester. Why? Because it's spring, mainly. Which means that the ice has melted up here in the 'Burg. Woo hoo! Warm sunshine, awesome hikes, maybe a visit or two to Yellowstone. If anyone would like to come visit me, we have an extra room! Please! Come! I love you all. And welcome to my adventures in Idaho.
